Senior Business Analyst (12m Fixed Term Contract)

Tewkesbury

Reporting to: Group Head, Financial Planning & Analysis

Main Purpose of Role:



This role is within the Financial Planning & Analysis team, with the key purpose being to drive improvements in the operations and financial performance of the business. Covering the Extrusions site in Tewkesbury (and potentially expanding to cover Evolution in Biggleswade), this will involve hands-on working with the plant managers to identify ways of improving the profitability of the business, both through cost initiatives and developing margins.



Responsibilities:



·       Drive the development of reporting across the business’ manufacturing operations, putting in place clear and sustainable KPIs and performance measuring tools.



·       Work with the plant manager to review, analyze and explain performance, deploying problem-solving methods to deliver corrective actions for any issues.



·       Be the first point of contact for the plant managers for any financial issues – including the evaluation of short and long-term changes in process.



·       Play the lead financial role in delivering capital investments to the operations – including validating business cases, drafting capex approvals and validating the benefits on completion.



·       Drive improvements in efficiency through challenging current operational practices and treatment of key cost streams, including labour, material and overheads.



·       Support developments of forecasts, including the annual budget, monthly and other ad hoc forecasting requirements. Put in place processes to monitor and ensure accuracy of forecast.



 



·       Support other Continuous Improvement activities across Finance and participate in cross-functional groups.



Technical Competence:



·       Qualified accountant with strong understanding of operations and grasp of management accounting principles.



·       Strong numerical and analytical competencies, including the ability to assess information and evaluate different solutions to issues.



Skills/Knowledge:



Essential



·       Driven individual with a desire and ability to improve processes.



·       Strong analytical skills with ability to work with large data sets



·       Highly numerate and literate.



·       Effective communicator with an ability to build strong networks across functions and articulate complex financial issues to a non-financial audience.



·       Good attention to detail.



·       Good time management and an ability to manage competing priorities.



Desirable



·       Experience of working in a manufacturing or similar environment
